1. Overview
SpotJoule handles payments on behalf of Hosts. Refunds are issued back to the Driver's original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days, depending on the card issuer.
2. When Drivers Receive a Full Refund
- The Host cancels a confirmed booking before it begins.
- The space is materially different from the listing (e.g. blocked, unsafe, wrong location).
- The space is inaccessible at the start of the reservation and the Host does not respond within 30 minutes.
- SpotJoule cancels the booking for fraud, safety, or platform-violation reasons.
3. Partial Refunds
A partial refund may be issued when an issue is reported during the booking and resolved early — for example, leaving the space within the first hour due to a problem that is the Host's responsibility.
4. Non-Refundable Situations
- Driver no-shows or late arrival shortening the usable time.
- Driver-initiated cancellations outside the windows in the Cancellation Policy.
- The $1.00 SpotJoule service fee, except where required by law.
- Issues unrelated to the Host's space (e.g. vehicle breakdown, weather, event changes).
5. How to Request a Refund
Open the booking in your SpotJoule account and tap "Get help with this booking", or email support@spotjoule.com within 48 hours of the booking. Include photos or other evidence where applicable.
6. Chargebacks
Initiating a chargeback through your bank before contacting SpotJoule support may result in account suspension while the dispute is investigated. We encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve the issue directly.
7. Disputes Between Host and Driver
SpotJoule is a marketplace and is not a party to the parking arrangement. We may, at our discretion, mediate disputes and issue refunds from Host payouts where the evidence supports it, but we do not guarantee any specific outcome.
